Unlike veal in Orlovsky, mushrooms are not used in the preparation of meat in French. At the same time, this roast option can be prepared not only from veal, but also from ordinary beef, pork, or even, for example, chicken.
Classic French chicken with potatoes in the oven
A feature of meat in French is that the ingredients are always laid out in layers when it is cooked. The classic French chicken is no exception in this regard.
Ingredients:
- 500 g chicken and potato fillets;
- 1 head of onion;
- 150 g of any hard cheese;
- 100 g of mayonnaise;
- dry oregano;
- pepper mixture.
Rinse the chicken and pat dry with paper towels. Peel the onion and cut into rings about 50 mm thick. Do the same with potatoes.
Cut the chicken fillet into slices and lightly beat off. Grind a mixture of peppers and oregano in a mortar. Add spices and salt to the mayonnaise, mix everything and rub the meat with the resulting sauce. Place the chicken in the refrigerator to marinate for 20-30 minutes.
Grease a baking sheet with vegetable oil and put onion rings on it. Place chopped potatoes on top. Salt the potatoes and pepper them to taste.
Lay the marinated chicken fillet tightly on top of the potatoes. Cover the baking sheet with foil on top and put it in the oven, preheated to 200 ° C. Simmer ingredients for 20 minutes.
Grate hard cheese on a coarse grater. After 20 min. remove the baking sheet from the oven, remove the foil and sprinkle the chicken with cheese. Return the dish to the oven for 20 minutes.
Delicious French chicken with potatoes and adjika
Ingredients:
- 400 g chicken breast;
- 4 medium potatoes;
- 2 onions;
- 4 tbsp sour cream;
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil;
- 1 tbsp adjika;
- 100 g of hard cheese;
- salt, spices.
Prepare the chicken fillet and cut into 40 mm thick plates. Marinate the meat in adjika for 20 minutes.
While the chicken is brewing, peel the potatoes and onions. Cut the potatoes into thin slices, and the onion into half rings.
Grease a baking sheet with vegetable oil and place potatoes on it. Sprinkle potatoes with any spices to taste and salt it. Spread some onions on top.
Put tightly marinated fillet in a baking sheet and generously grease it with sour cream. Spread the rest of the onion over the meat.
Preheat the oven to 180 ° C, put a baking sheet in it and bake the dish for 15 minutes – until the onion is lightly browned.
Grate the cheese. Remove the French-style chicken from the oven and sprinkle the dish with cheese. Put the baking sheet back in the oven and leave it there for 25-30 minutes.
Variant of French Chicken in a Frying Pan
Ingredients:
- 400 g chicken and potato fillets;
- 2 eggs;
- 100 ml sour cream;
- 100 g of hard cheese;
- 2 onions;
- 2 cloves of garlic;
- 50 ml of water;
- seasoning for chicken;
- salt, vegetable oil.
Cut the chicken into plates no more than 1 cm thick. Cut the potatoes into circles, the onion into half rings. Finely chop the garlic and crush it in a mortar with seasonings and salt.
Mix the garlic mixture thoroughly and rub the meat plates with it. Place the chicken to marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Heat sunflower oil in a frying pan. Add chicken pieces and fry until golden brown over medium heat.
Crack the eggs into the sour cream and mix everything well. Cheese grate on a fine grater.
Reduce the heat to low and place the potato slices over the chicken. Pour the ingredients with sour cream sauce and sprinkle everything on top with grated cheese. Close the pan with a lid and cook the dish for 20 minutes.
Variant of the dish in the multicooker
Ingredients:
- three chicken fillets;
- 6 potatoes;
- 150 g of cheese;
- 1 onion;
- oil, mayonnaise, spices, salt.
Rinse the chicken fillet, pat dry and rub with salt and spices. Pour a little vegetable oil into the multicooker bowl. Put the chicken there, turn on the “Baking” mode and fry the meat for 15 minutes. with the lid open.
While the chicken is cooking, peel the onions and potatoes. Cut the potatoes into slices, and the onion into rings. Cheese grate on a coarse grater.
Turn the chicken pieces over in the slow cooker to the other side. Lay the chopped onion on top. Put potatoes on the onion. You can lightly salt the potatoes if you like.
Lubricate the potatoes with mayonnaise and sprinkle with a little pepper. Sprinkle everything on top with grated cheese. Turn on the “Baking” mode and cook the dish for 40 minutes.
French Chicken with Potatoes and Mushrooms
Ingredients:
- 1 kg of potatoes;
- 2-3 legs;
- 100 g of cheese;
- 300 g of champignons;
- 2 onions;
- a little mustard;
- mayonnaise, salt, spices.
Remove the skin from the legs and cut the meat from the bones. Put spices and salt in mayonnaise. Rub meat with sauce and marinate for 20 minutes.
Wash mushrooms, peel and cut into slices. Peel the onions and potatoes as well. Cut vegetables into slices.
Heat oil in a frying pan and lightly fry half the chopped onion. Put the mushrooms in the pan and fry them until browned.
Do not oil the baking sheet too much. Put half of the remaining raw onion on it. Place 2/3 of the chopped potatoes on top so that there are no empty spaces.
Put the meat and the rest of the onion on top of the potatoes. Lay the fried mushrooms on top of the meat. Put the rest of the potatoes on them.
Cover the baking sheet with foil and send it to the oven, preheated to 180 ° C for 35 minutes. While the products are baking, grate the cheese on a coarse grater.
Remove the baking sheet from the oven and remove the foil from it. Put the cheese on top and send everything back to the oven. Bake the dish for another 15 minutes. before browning the cheese. Pull out the chicken in French and serve it to the table.
A simple recipe for chicken with potatoes and prunes
Ingredients:
- 1 kg of chicken meat;
- 1 kg of potatoes;
- 1 medium onion;
- 100 g prunes;
- 100 g of cheese;
- 50 ml vegetable oil;
- salt, spices.
Pour the oil into a bowl and add salt and spices. Rub the washed and dried chicken meat with the marinade. Place the chicken to marinate in the refrigerator for 30-40 minutes.
Peel the onion and potatoes, grate the cheese on a fine grater. Cut potatoes into slices. Chop the onion into half rings.
Soak prunes in boiling water for 20 minutes. and cut into large pieces. Mix chopped potatoes with a little vegetable oil and salt.
Grease a baking sheet with oil and lay the potatoes on it in an even layer. Put the chopped onion on top of the potatoes. Next, lay the prunes and chicken and cover the baking sheet with foil. Put everything in the oven to bake for 20 minutes.

Chicken variant
Ingredients:
- 300 g minced chicken;
- 500 g of champignons;
- 5 potatoes;
- 300 g of cheese;
- mayonnaise, salt, pepper.
Wash and peel the onion and potatoes, grate the cheese on a coarse grater. Grease a baking sheet with vegetable oil.
Lay the sliced onion on a baking sheet. Put a layer of thinly sliced \u200b\u200bpotatoes on top so that there are no empty spaces. Salt and pepper the potatoes.
Add salt and pepper to the mince and mix well. Spread the mince in an even layer on top of the potatoes. Cut the mushrooms into thin slices and lay on top of the minced meat.

French Chicken with Red Wine and Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients:
- 4 chicken legs;
- 400 ml dry red wine;
- 500 g potatoes;
- 50 g butter;
- 5 bulbs;
- spices for chicken;
- 200 ml of ketchup;
- vegetable oil, salt.
Rinse the chicken legs and cut into thighs and drumsticks. Dry the meat thoroughly with napkins, otherwise it will not turn out crispy.
Peel the onion and cut into thin half rings. Put the chicken legs and onion in one bowl and mix. Add red wine and ketchup to a bowl, add salt and spices. Mix everything thoroughly again.
Cover the bowl with a lid and place it in the refrigerator. Marinate the meat for 5-9 hours.
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Line a baking sheet with baking paper and grease with vegetable oil. Put the pickled chicken legs on a baking sheet so that they do not touch each other. Divide the marinated onions evenly between the chicken legs.
Put the meat in the oven for 20 minutes. During this time, peel the potatoes and put them to boil.
In 20 minutes. Remove the chicken legs from the oven and pour over the sauce formed at the bottom of the baking sheet. Put the dish back into the oven and bake for another 25 minutes.
Crush the boiled potatoes with a crush and season with butter. Arrange the potatoes and chicken legs in portions, decorate everything with herbs and serve.

Ingredients:
- 500 g chicken fillet;
- 1 kg of potatoes;
- 2 large tomatoes;
- 100 g of cheese;
- 1 onion;
- mayonnaise, vegetable oil, pepper, salt.
Rinse the chicken fillet, pat dry and place on a cutting board. If necessary, clean the meat from veins, films and fat. Slice the chicken lengthwise into 1 cm thick slices.
Rub salt and pepper on both sides of the meat. Wash the onion, peel and cut into small cubes. Cheese grate on a coarse grater.
Rinse the tomatoes and remove from them the place to which the stalk was attached. Cut the tomatoes into thin rings. Peel the potatoes and also cut into circles or slices.
Put onions and potatoes in one bowl, salt, pepper and mix thoroughly. Grease the bottom of a baking dish with a small amount of vegetable oil. Arrange potatoes and onions in an even layer.
Cover the potatoes with layers of chicken fillet. Sprinkle meat on top with onions. Lay the tomato slices on top of the onion. Grease the tomatoes with mayonnaise as evenly as possible, trying not to get on the edges of the mold.
Sprinkle the dish with grated cheese, cover everything on top with foil and secure its edges well. Preheat the oven to 200°C and place a baking sheet in it. Bake the dish for 30-40 minutes.
