Stuffed cabbage is a tasty and familiar dish, but sometimes there is no time to cook it at all, then a simplified lazy version will come to the rescue. It has all the same familiar ingredients, but it is much simpler and easier to prepare. The main product in this dish is cabbage, it is a source of vitamins, minerals and trace elements. Its medicinal properties have been known since ancient times. Compresses are made from cabbage, it has anti-inflammatory and anti-edematous effects, also stimulates the digestive and cardiovascular systems, and has a positive effect on the body’s metabolic processes.
Lazy cabbage rolls on the stove
For cooking:
- rice – ½ cup
- minced meat – 350 g.
- Beijing cabbage – 1 pc.
- carrots – 1 pc.
- onion – 1 pc.
- tomato paste – 1 tbsp. spoons
- ground black pepper
- sweet ground paprika
- salt
For sauce:
- water – 0.5 liters
- tomatoes – 3 pcs.
- flour – 2 tbsp. spoons
- sour cream – 2 tbsp. spoons
- greenery
Step by step recipe:
- minced meat from any type of meat, pork, beef or chicken, transfer to a separate bowl
- rinse the rice well in several waters, put it on a sieve and leave to drain
- pour 1.5 cups of cold water into a saucepan, put on fire, boil
- for cabbage rolls, round polished rice is best, it contains more gluten, so that cabbage rolls will not crumble
- add rice, stir, wait until it boils again and reduce the heat to a minimum, cook under the lid for 15 minutes until all the liquid has boiled away
- remove from heat, transfer to a container with minced meat
- divide the cabbage into 2 parts, chop into small pieces, transfer to a common bowl
- cut the tomatoes into large pieces, place in a pan, simmer for 5-7 minutes until soft
- salt, add sweet paprika, ground black pepper and half the stewed tomatoes, mix well
- form balls or oblong cutlets of the same size, 5-6 centimeters in diameter
- put in a pot or pan with a thick bottom
- brew the sauce in another saucepan: mix flour, remaining tomatoes, sour cream, dilute with water, bring to a boil and leave on fire until thickened for 5-7 minutes
- peel the onion, cut into half rings
- peel the carrots, grate on a coarse grater
- fry vegetables in a pan with vegetable oil, they will add a sweetish taste and extra juiciness
- add prepared vegetables to the pan with cabbage rolls and pour over the sauce
- cover and simmer over medium heat for 40-50 minutes
Serve hot with sauce and vegetables, fresh sour cream will give a delicate creamy taste, fresh herbs will add color and aroma.
Lazy cabbage rolls in the oven
For cooking:
- common cabbage – 1 medium head
- minced meat from any type of meat – 500 g.
- red onion – 1 pc.
- carrots – 1 pc.
- round polished rice – 1 cup
- cherry tomatoes – 6 pcs.
- vegetable oil for frying
- tomato paste – 3 tbsp. spoons
- sea salt to taste
- sugar – 1 teaspoon
- favorite spices
Step by step recipe:
- boil rice in advance in a saucepan with water, in a ratio of 1 to 3
- peel and chop onions and carrots, simmer in a pan with vegetable oil
- vegetables contain a large amount of vitamins and nutrients, which lose their properties during heat treatment, so they can not be fried at all, but simply left raw
- grate cabbage on a special grater or chop with a sharp knife
- mix minced meat, rice, cabbage and browned vegetables in one large bowl
- salt, season with your favorite spices, mix well
- form cutlets and lightly fry on both sides, in a pan
- transfer the heat-resistant into a form with sides
- mix 0.5 liters of water with tomato paste, add salt and sugar and pour over cabbage rolls
- put in the oven for further cooking, at a temperature of 160-180 degrees for 1 hour, calculate the exact time from the characteristics of your oven
